Taylor Annex Release Outcomes

Taylor Correctional Institution Annex is part of Florida state custody. A person may leave it because FDC releases the person to the community, begins probation or another supervision term, or moves the person to the main unit or a different prison. Only the first two paths end confinement. A transfer keeps the person incarcerated.

Release to probation, conditional release, community control, or another FDC term is a community release with continuing legal supervision. Expiration of sentence may end custody without supervision. The FDC release record supplies the state event, while Supervised Population can show whether a term follows. A court judgment explains the sentence but may not be the best source for the actual FDC date out.

Confirm Taylor Annex Release

Begin with the person's six-character DC number when possible. It is FDC's primary identifier and can be all digits or one letter followed by five digits. Name searches use prefix matching, so add the first name and compare the date of birth, photograph, county, case, and offense history before selecting a result.

1. Open the FDC Inmate Release search and enter the DC number or name.
2. Use the alias option when another name or spelling may apply.
3. Read the release date, status, type, release facility, and Date Out of Custody fields that appear.
4. Run the same DC number in Inmate Population to rule out continued state incarceration.
5. Check Supervised Population for probation, conditional release, community control, office, and termination data.
6. Contact FDC Admission and Release when the type, facility, or date remains unclear.

Taylor Annex Records Contact

The Annex shares the Taylor Correctional Institution complex address. Current official contact paths run through FDC's institution directory and central offices. Release dates and status are controlled by FDC central records, not by the Taylor County Sheriff's Office.

Taylor Annex State Prison Role

FDC operates the Annex as a state-prison unit. It is not an overflow wing of Taylor County Jail and does not use the sheriff's booking numbers or release log. The Annex is separately listed by FDC at the shared prison-complex address. Its incarcerated population belongs to the state corrections layer.

A 2019 PREA audit says the Annex opened in 2002 and describes eight custody units with several security levels. Those facts describe the facility at the time of that audit. They do not establish a current count, release schedule, or present daily operations. A current 2026 FDC statewide schedule still lists the Annex at the complex address, which supports its active status.

FDC's central Offender Based Information System underlies public release and custody results. The last prison named in a record can help identify the release facility, but central records control the legal status and dates.

Taylor Annex FDC Database Choice

FDC publishes separate databases because “released,” “still in prison,” and “under supervision” are different states. Inmate Release is the released-first search and updates nightly. It contains people already released or scheduled for release. A result may include the photo, DC number, release date, incarceration history, case, county, and sentence information.

Inmate Population covers current state prisoners. It refreshes weekly, except release dates and location changes update nightly. Its Current Release Date is a projection, not proof that release occurred. That field can change because of gain-time awards, forfeitures, reviews, or sentence changes. Some results may show “TO BE SET” or a life sentence instead of a date.

Supervised Population covers current state supervision. It refreshes weekly, except termination dates and location changes update nightly. Absconder/Fugitive is a separate search for people who stopped making themselves available for supervision. None of these FDC databases serves as an archive for a county-jail-only sentence.

Taylor Annex Discharge Record Fields

A strong state-prison release match joins identity with the commitment and exit. Record the DC number, name, photograph, date of birth, release date, release type or status, release facility, county, case number, offense, and incarceration-history Date Out of Custody when those fields appear. Use only labels visible in the live result.

The public release detail may suppress a stated residence and mark it available to law enforcement. Do not seek or publish a private post-release residence. The public question is whether FDC custody ended, when it ended, from which facility, and whether supervision followed.

For the underlying OBIS record, release packet, date calculation, or other state document, use FDC's public-records route and identify the DC number and exact date range. Ask for an existing record, not a custom analysis.

Taylor Main and Annex Transfers

The Annex and main institution share the same Taylor complex. A location change between them may appear as a move in FDC records, but it does not end incarceration. The same rule applies to a transfer from the Annex to another Florida prison. Check Inmate Population for the current location before treating an old Annex location as a release facility.

When a released record identifies the Annex, that location can help trace the exit event. Still, central release data controls the date and status. When the last known facility differs from the public result, contact Admission and Release rather than choosing the location that seems most likely.

Taylor Annex History Since 2002

Taylor County has three active custody layers in two complexes: the sheriff's jail, Taylor Correctional Institution main unit, and the Annex. The main unit opened in 1994. The Annex opened in 2002. These opening dates come from an FDC PREA audit issued in 2019 and should be read as dated facility history, not current operational data.

The same 2019 audit said the former Taylor Work Camp was no longer open. It therefore belongs in history, not the active facility list. If an older FDC record names the Work Camp as a release facility, preserve that label as part of the record while explaining that the camp was not verified active in 2026.

This local structure makes a result bearing “Taylor” easy to misread. Taylor County Jail belongs to TCSO. The main institution, Annex, and historical Work Camp names belong to FDC. Agency and identifier matter more than the shared county name.

Supervision After Taylor Annex Release

A community release can still carry a legal supervision term. Search FDC Supervised Population with the same DC number used in the release search. Read the supervision type, current office or location, and termination date. Confirm reporting instructions directly with the office named in the person's record.

Taylor is in FDC Community Corrections Circuit 03. Office 033-Perry is at 121 N. Jefferson St., Perry, with telephone 850-838-8700. No public walk-in or reporting hours were verified, so call before visiting. A public search is not a substitute for the released person's official instructions.

Florida parole is limited and should not be used as a generic term for every release. A modern state discharge may involve probation after a split sentence, conditional release, community control, or sentence expiration. Use the exact wording in the FDC record or Commission order.

Taylor Annex Release Record Limits

FDC warns that location, status, and release data can change quickly. Nightly updates reduce delay but do not make every displayed field final. A scheduled date can move, and a location can change before a user checks again. Save the DC number and note the date of the search.

A court judgment establishes the sentence, while FDC applies credits, gain time, forfeitures, and state release calculations. Florida Statute 944.275 calls the calculated projection a tentative release date. The public population detail labels it Current Release Date. Neither label is proof that discharge has occurred.
